Sofia: Olivia Munn
Noah: Josh Duhamel
Lexi: India Eisley
Jaxson: Nick Robinson
Lindsey: Emilia Clarke
Marc: Jay Hernandez
Jaime Lynn: Nikki Reed
Jesse: Boris Kodjoe
What type of books do you read?
They say you write what you love right? Well, that’s me. Romance, Romantic Suspense, and some YA.
Any favorite authors?
A bunch! The list is only getting longer. Julie Garwood, Kathleen Brooks, Kristen Ashley, Laura Kaye, HJ Bellus, Carina Adams, and so much more. I’d be here all day!
Do you think that book covers are important?
Yes! I can’t help but think this. As an indie author, I know how expensive publishing can be for us but a cover is so important. When I see a cover that I think looks rushed or sloppy I can’t help but assume the writing might be the same. My husband says I’m a cover snob. There are some covers that are true pieces of artwork, others that look great, and then some that just don’t hit a mark for me.
What is your favorite book?
In romance one of my all-time favorites is Shadow Dance by Julie Garwood. I can read that one over and over again.
What do you use as inspiration?
Life. I’m a people watcher and somewhat of a day dreamer. Just yesterday as I drove to pick up my daughter an idea formed. Which of course I need to write down but then again this one is starting to bang on the door. I’m trying to tell this character it needs to go to the back of the line. So demanding!
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Insecure, goofball, and honest.
At what age were you, or what event happened, when you knew
you loved writing and you were good at it?
you loved writing and you were good at it?
My best friend died unexpectedly. I wrote out of grief and then the friends I confided in told me it was similar to what we loved to read. I took a chance after months of going back and forth on it.
Do you base your characters on real people or are they
completely imagined?
completely imagined?
Some traits are inspired by some people and then the rest is comprised from my imagination based on random people you come in contact with.
What authors have inspired you along the way?
Those would be the same people I mentioned above. I feel like when you love someone’s work you hope to one day be considered on the same playing field as them.
What is your favorite quote or line from a book?
Wow… so I’m completely blanking out on this. Not one line from any book I love is coming to me.
Besides writing what do you enjoy doing?
Reading. Spending time with the family. Traveling. Getting a pedicure. Theme Parks. Photography.
I have many things I love to do as you can see. The problem is there are not enough hours in the day.
Do you have any signings coming up?
I will be at Brew City Book Signing October 7th in Milwaukee! I am also going next year to #DAS18 in Tennessee. I’m hoping to add more to that but as a newbie on seen I need to find people willing to give me a shot. By October I’ll have four different books available with another one coming the month after if I can stay on schedule.
